I had committed earlier that we will take up overall development of Balasore Municipality.
Now in the first phase, I would like to announce the following projects.
We will develop the Bus Stand with all facilities for the comfort of the passengers, at a cost of Rs 8 crores.
The development of the road from Tamulia gate flyover to Station chak including six laning, street lighting etc. will be taken up on priority. Most of the major roads in the Balasore Municipality will be developed to ensure smooth traffic flow in the town. These projects are taken up at a cost of Rs 70 crores.
To provide professional coaching and top class infrastructure for the budding sportspersons, the Sports infrastructure in the municipality including Multipurpose Indoor Hall, Swimming pool etc will be developed at a cost of Rs 14 crores.
The Budha balanga river is the life line of Balasore municipality. We will take up the protection and beautification works of the river bank at a cost of Rs 53 crores. This river front development will provide the people of the municipality a land mark place for recreation.
The main ponds of the municipality like Gadagadia Pond, Sovarampur pond, Badakhua Pond, Nua Pokhari Pond, Harchan Pond, Harganga Pond are also taken up for development and beautification. This will improve the ambience of the town and also provide open spaces for the citizens.
The drainage channels and related roads will be developed by Balasore Municipality at Rs 7 crores.
The total cost of all the projects in this phase as mentioned above is Rs 155 crores.
These projects will be taken up on priority and the work will start soon.
The Teaching Hospital at the Medical College in Balasore has already been taken up at a cost of Rs 275 crores and the work is under progress. The Balasore Muncipality has taken up various infrastructure development activities like CC roads, community centre etc in the town at a costs of Rs 16 crores and work is under progress since last 4-5 months.
We will continue to work for the overall development of Balasore district. I look forward to the support of the people of the district.
