Hon’ble Union Minister of Coal, Parliamentary Affairs and Mines Shri Pralhad Joshi ji,
Hon’ble Minister, Steel and Mines, Shri Mallick, Chief Secretary and Senior officials.
I am glad that we have been able to operationalize the two new mines allotted to OMC within such a short period of time. I would like to congratulate OMC for their sincere efforts in making this happen.
We are thankful to Shri Pralhad Joshi ji and his team for their confidence in Odisha and enabling the allotment of new mines and related clearances at a very short notice. We hope that with the quick operationalization of the allotted mines by OMC, the iron ore market will stabilize and the supply situation for the industry will improve.
Odisha has been a pioneer in many mining related activities. With a view to ensure transparency and enforcement, we had started the I3MS system to monitor the ore movement. We have also been able to successfully auction large number of mines over the last few years.
The Mining and related metal industries sectors have grown tremendously over last two decades in the State. Odisha has great potential to emerge as a global hub for Steel, aluminum and other metal industries. We have created an investor-friendly ecosystem to promote further investment in this sector and help in the growth of the Indian economy.
We would like to partner with Government of India and work together to realize this potential of the State. We have supported the initiatives towards Mineral Sector reforms and hope this will benefit the State and the Country in the long run.
I once again congratulate all the officials for efforts towards operationalizing the mines.
