I am delighted to be here today to inaugurate the 27th edition of Indian Express "Technology Sabha" organized for the first time in Odisha in association with Government of Odisha. As the name suggests, the focus is on finding technology driven solutions to our everyday issues, and making technology a way of life.
Technologies are changing very fast from desktop to laptop to tablets to mobiles, and from Internet of Things to Internet of Everything. Keeping this in view, the IT Sector is at the top my Government's agenda.
Odisha is a leading State in the field of e-Governance. A number of e-Governance initiatives have been taken up in the areas such as land records, urban services, disaster management, education, policing, grievance redressal and other fields.
Odisha is the only State, which has redesigned governance processes by using IT and innovation, where a citizen need not visit any government office for availing services, unless mandated by law.
People are the soul of democracy. The hallmark of good governance is citizen satisfaction. Our Five-T Mantra - Transparency. Technology, Teamwork and Time leading to Transformation remains the bedrock of good and responsive governance. In every sphere, we are aiming at using the best of technology.
Besides setting a benchmark in disaster preparedness, Odisha has emerged as the top performer in the Start-Up Ranking 2018. Odisha has also won the "Best State Promoting Sports" at the FICCI India Sports Award-2019 and all set to host the 2023 World Hockey Championship after hosting the World Hockey Championship 2019.
Odisha is the only destination in the Eastern India where all five IT majors namely Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Tech Mahindra & Mindtree have set up their Development Centres. The IT exports from the State have touched Rs Four thousand Crore in this year thereby putting the State in a commendable position in IT map of the country.
My Government is committed to take all possible steps to build right ecosystem to make Odisha a leader in technology.
