I am privileged to be here today to attend the Centenary Celebration of Ramakrishna Matha and Mission in Bhubaneswar. I congratulate all the revered saints of this Mission and Matha on this glorious occasion.
I am informed that inspired by the sanctity and spirituality of Bhubaneswar, Swami Brahma Nanda Jee established this Mission here and developed it into a beautiful ecological and spiritual centre. I pay my sincere tributes to Swami Brahma Nanda Jee on this occasion. This has been the centre of attraction for all the Monks & Sadhus of the mission worldwide. It is also a blessing for the people of Bhubaneswar who seek spirituality within the serene and peaceful atmosphere of this premises.
Shree Ramakrishna and Swami Vivekananda, together initiated an era of spirituality based on humanity and service. Swamiji's Mission was to revive the Indian spiritual brotherhood based on the knowledge of Vedanta. The spiritual awakening of India by Swamiji was a great booster to the freedom movement which was later carried out by Mahatma Gandhi. For any achievement in life, the journey starts with our spiritual awakening. I am happy that this centre has been truly become one of the important spiritual centres of the city of Bhubaneswar.
Carrying on the ideals of Shree Ramakrishna and Swami Vivekananda, this Mission has been engaged in various social service activities including health and education. The library of the Mission is one of the oldest libraries of the city. It has been catering to the needs of many students, researchers and knowledge seekers for many many years.
I express my sincere gratitude to the Secretary and other office bearers of this Mission and Matha for inviting me to this celebration and I wish the event a great success.
